Everyone is a keeper of the gate
12 February 2005Please lock the gate every time you go through it. Even if you are going to be in the park only a few minutes. Especially if there is another car trying to get through the gate, and you don’t personally know the occupants are members. Unless you are willing to question those in the other car, it’s easier just to relock the gate, and let that car unlock it again.
Also, the gate must be locked so that OWASA can access the park to maintain their lines. Run our combination lock through the last link of the chain, then through only the shackle of OWASA’s lock. Now OWASA can open the gate using their lock, and won’t cut our lock to do so (which they are more than willing to do).
Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, please keep the combination confidential. Last year the combination was widely known by area students, and the park was overrun by people who do not live in Lake Forest. Like last year, if this happens again, we will be forced to change the combination, creating confusion for everyone. Thanks for doing your part.
