Dues Notices
9 March 2006You will soon receive our first mailing of the year. The envelope will contain an invoice for this year’s dues and a statement of your account with the association. If you rent a boat rack there will be an invoice for that as well.
Also in the mailing is information on the things you can do to protect our lake.
Please send in your dues as soon as possible. Prompt payment helps us get ready in time for our summer recreation season.

I would like to suggest that we have a discussion at the spring meeting about protecting not only the lake but the appearance of our lakefrontage, both by day and by night. For example, no one has yet painted their house a bright pink but if they did this would probably detract from the beauty of the lake setting. Massive tree removal also detracts. And for those of us who enjoy night boating, we could perhaps raise the general consciousness that lots of lighting greatly detracts from the experience. Maybe we could encourage people to use the minimal waterfront lighting compatible with whatever they need this lighting for, and make sure that bright spotlights don’t point straight out at boaters. Thanks for listening.
I agree with Ann Stuart that it is high time to have such a discussion. I know that Rody Spivey also is interested in the matter. Anybody else who would like to participate, please speak up. Let us plan for a meeting within the next month.

On the subject of lights and lighting, I would hope that the same logic applies to lighting thoughout the hood. There IS such a thing as light pollution. Besides ruining the night it puts more money in Duke Power’s pockets.
Personally, I’d just love it if everyone used/switched to motion sensors. Use a small light by the door but leave some night for others who love it. Thanks PR
PS Totally off the subject. Is anyone else disturbed every night at 3AM by the bloody twin engine plane that flies over low and loud?
This is the Lab Corp plane, in case your interested.
Please see if we can put up a note that indicates where we can mail the payment on the website. I am sure its there, but, it may help to make it more visible. also, i take it no credit cards are accepted (is this an option with additional cost for service fees involved ?) - maybe a note on this would help too. Thanks. 960-3614
Good suggestions, Shashi. It’s not too hidden, though. You’ll find our address under “Contact Information” on the left side of every page.
You’re right; we don’t take credit cards. It’s not just the fees; it’s also the added work for our all-volunteer group.
